World Cocktail Day: Our Favourite Recipe

For World Cocktail Day, our group mixologist, Marshall Behaein, will be drinking a Dirty Vodka Martini.

For  Marshall, this cocktail is perfect because it is both the symbol of simplicity in the world of cocktails, and complex at the same time, as it can be difficult to make it just right.

Bringing together vodka, dry vermouth, olives and olive brine and a little lemon zest, the flavour profile is umami  –  with a bit of saltiness from the olive, a touch of sweetness from the vodka and sour from the lemon  –  creating an overall extremely well-balanced cocktail.

Marshall’s Dry Martini Recipe

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 6 ml dry vermouth
  • 9 ml olive brine
  • Stir and garnish with green olives and a twist of lemon zest around the rim of the glass
