Set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Alphen gardens at twilight, join our jazz maestros at Incognito every Thursday evening this winter at For Everything Else There’s Jazz.
To accompany the smooth sounds of Cape Town’s finest jazz musicians, curated for their professionalism and ability to read the room, we’ve handcrafted a menu of cocktails and perfect serves showcasing a special brand partner.

Meet our jazz maestros
The Gavin Minter trio
SAMA-nominated for Best Jazz album 2009, Gavin Minter is a singer, saxophonist, percussionist, writer, composer, producer, promoter and music agent. The son of a trumpet player and a jazz singer, Minter has played guitar since age twelve, and in the 80s started playing saxophone in the jazz arena. For the past three decades he’s toured the world and graced every important jazz stage in South Africa. Last year, he recorded his 7th album of jazz standards in Stockholm after a two-week sell-out tour of Sweden.
Penelope Radsma duo
Penelope is a jazz vocalist in Cape Town passionate about bringing classic Golden Age jazz standards to the modern world, mixed with the swaying sounds of Brazilian jazz. Smooth vocals and creative arrangements with piano and double bass bring nostalgia and a touch of class.
Francesca Biancoli
Sultry Italian singer-songwriter Francesca Biancoli performs an eclectic, soulful range of music consisting of jazz, Italian folk, soul and R&B. Born in Puglia in the South of Italy, Francesca has a Master’s degree with distinction in jazz performance from GB Martini Conservatorio, has performed all over Europe and has won many Italian jazz vocal competitions. She’s been living in Cape Town for some years and continues to perform and record as a full-time musician. She’s also known to do an incredible Amy Winehouse rendition!
Carla Louw Duo
Feel-good energy and unforgettable vocal prowess are just two of the ingredients that have put Carla Louw on stages all over the world. With deep roots in South Africa, Carla’s performance is sunshine in a bottle, leaving every audience asking for an encore. A lifetime of dedication to her love of music has made her a master of her craft, bringing unique power and pizazz to stages of every size – guaranteed to get the party started with her contagious zest for life.
The Josh Trio
The Josh Trio is creative jazz band based in Cape Town. The trio is made up of three Joshuas’ – namely Joshua Klein, Joshua Wheatley and Joshua Nemaire – who, as a collective, entered the Cape Town music scene in early 2021. Their connection goes far beyond the music and they have an incredible, present energy during performances. Prioritising the music is key to the band, which makes it their main objective. This band plays a wide array of music genres, including jazz, Latin, pop music and more.
Giuliette Price Trio
Giuliette Price, a Cape Town-based vocalist and composer, has been making waves in the music scene since their move from Johannesburg in 2021. Known for their captivating performances, Giuliette has had the privilege of sharing stages with renowned artists such as Kujenga, MOONGA K and Alice Phoebe Lou.
Giuliette Price performed at the annual “Journey To Jazz” Festival this year in Cape Town in May.
Amy Campbell
Cape Town-based vocalist, musician and musical theatre actress, Amy Campbell has been a professional musician for over a decade. She’s performed on stages across the globe, from the Stockholm Jazz Festival and the Arcevia Jazz Festival to jazz clubs in Australia, New York and Europe, and the Cape Town Folk n Acoustic Music Festival. Amy currently heads up the vocal department at LAMTA.
Lea Venga
Lea Venga is a versatile singer-songwriter from Cape Town with a sultry voice that fits any mood. Her influences range from jazz to deep house. She regularly performs on the Jazz scene incorporating various genres. Her recordings and songwriting follow suit with a wide variety of musical styles and stories.
Lea was the singer and songwriter for the band Under The Influence, which had commercial radio success. She has since gone solo to pursue her own sound and identity, while still recording vocals for many other South African artists. Her latest release ’Makes Me Feel’ has currently made the top 5 on radio Heart FM. She is be joined by Blake Hellaby on piano and Sibusiso Matsimela on bass.
Asemahle Tsholoba
Performer and vocalist Asemahle Tsholoba captivates audiences with her soulful voice and dynamic stage presence. A Nelson Mandela University Music alumni, currently furthering her studies at the University of Cape Town, she has performed at high-profile events and shared the stage with renowned South African artists such as Andile Yenana, Ringo Madlingozi, and Mandisi Dyantyis.
From her solo debut with the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018 followed by the National Arts Festival, to her standout appearance on Idols South Africa, her prowess as a performer is only gaining momentum. Recently, she participated in the 2022 Artscape Youth Jazz Festival, performing on national television. Passionate about music, Asemahle is dedicated to inspiring others through her art.
Brigitte mitchell
Brigitte Mitchell is a South African jazz artist, SAMA award nominee, internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter and fashion designer. In 2014, Brigitte started the journey of reimagining Brazilian classics with new bossa nova arrangements by Ney Conceycao leading to her ‘In Brazil’ EP – capturing the authentic sound of Brazil.
Currently in production of the next release, now discovering a new and exciting musical journey in South Africa. On Piano and occasionally on Guitar, Brigitte performs with a selection of acclaimed musicians both local and internationally.
Nic Sedgwick
Nic Sedgwick loves to croon. From an early age he was influenced by the sound of the rat pack and other musicians like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson and George Shearing to name a few. He graduated from Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy in 2020 and has since been involved in a host of theatre, film and music performances around South Africa.
Maya Spector
Maya Spector is a gifted vocalist and songwriter with roots in South Africa and the USA. Her voice, described as “pure honey” with both darkness and sweetness, captivates audiences across jazz, soul, and musical theatre. A global citizen at heart, Maya connects with audiences worldwide through her deep understanding of diverse cultures.
As founder of The Papaya House, a female empowerment production house, Maya continues to thrive as a solo artist and session musician, living by her motto: “I don’t live for music, I live because of it!”

The For Everything Else There’s Jazz Cocktail menu is updated every quarter based on our sponsorship partner for the period. The current menu is only available until 31 October 2024. A new menu with new cocktails will be available from 7 November 2024.
